Welcome,
My name is Cassie Janovsky, and I'm glad you've found yourself here.

I offer counselling and psychotherapy services for adults in south Edmonton (in-person), and virtually across Alberta and Saskatchewan.

About Me:
My background has been working mainly with adults, older adults, people living with chronic health conditions (Alzheimer's disease, dementia, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, etc. ), care partners, individuals and couples experiencing a difficult diagnosis, and people experiencing all types of grief and loss. I continue to have a special interest in these areas, though I welcome working with adults experiencing a range of concerns affecting their mental health, including trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, etc.
In addition to counselling, I also continue to work as a front line social worker in complex long term care in Edmonton, AB.
In my spare time, I am usually spending time with my little family, dancing, swimming, and spending time outdoors (though I am admittedly a fair-weather friend to the weather).
Education and Credentials:
Bachelor of Social Work, University of Victoria.
Master's of Psychotherapy and Spirituality, St. Stephen's College at the U of A.
Canadian Certified Counsellor (#10006869) - Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.
Approach:
I fully recognize that it can be a difficult, yet brave step to begin therapy; we will work collaboratively to explore your concerns, goals, and find more ease in your life. I have an eclectic approach to counselling, utilizing a person centered foundation, and integrating a variety of therapeutic frameworks, depending on where you're at, and what your preference might be. I also have specialized training in somatic and attachment focused EMDR (S.A.F.E.) and Dignity Therapy, and integrate those approaches where appropriate. Though my approach can be spiritually integrated, and I have an interest in spirituality, I should note that I am not a religious or faith-based counsellor.
I am also happy to chat on the phone for a few minutes to see if we might be a good fit for therapy before you begin.
Fees:
$150/session (50 min) - individual session
$175/session (50 min) - couples session
I do not offer direct billing, please check with your insurance to see if they cover counselling services with a Canadian Certified Counsellor. Receipts will always be provided.
I am able to offer a sliding scale (starting at $100) for folks who may need. In addition, I currently have special rates for members of the Alzheimer Society of Alberta/NWT, and Saskatchewan, Parkinson Association of Alberta, MS Society of Canada, and St. Stephen's College MPS/AT program students. Please contact me directly at the email or phone number below to discuss these options.
